Election Information

NOTICE OF PARTISAN PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION - VILLAGE OF CLEVELAND

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an election to be held in the Village of Cleveland on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, ten electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, one for each congressional district and two for the state at-large, are to be elected.  The names of presidential electors do not appear on the ballot, but each vote cast for a presidential candidate is a vote for the electors of the candidate.  Independent candidates for President or Vice-President may circulate nomination papers beginning August 1, 2008, and must file nomination papers with the Government Accountability Board no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 2, 2008.  The Government Accountability Board is located at 17 West Main Street, Suite 310, Madison, Wisconsin.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, and at an election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, the following officers are to be nominated and elected:

ONE REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS, for the term of 2 years, to succeed the present incumbent listed, whose term of office will expire on January 3, 2009:

6th Congressional District……………………Tom Petri

ONE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE ASSEMBLY, for the term of two years, to succeed the present incumbent listed, whose term of office will expire on January 5, 2009:

District 25……………………………………Bob Ziegelbauer

ONE DISTRICT ATTORNEY, for the term of four years, to succeed the present incumbent listed, whose term of office will expire on January 5, 2009:

Manitowoc County…………………………   Mark Rohrer
